Ten people were shot between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning on the city's South and West Sides, including a man who died this morning after being shot on the Lower West Side and a 12-year-old girl who survived a gunshot wound on the West Side Saturday night.

The girl was standing on a sidewalk in the 500 block of North Springfield Avenue in East Garfield Park about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when she was shot in the left foot, police said. It's not clear exactly what the circumstances were that led up to the shooting, police said. She's in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

The girl's family didn't cooperate with the investigation, according to police.

About 1:25 a.m. Sunday, a man was killed in the 1300 block of West 13th Street in the University Village / Little Italy neighborhood. He was in a car with another man and stepped out when someone started shooting at him, police said, hitting him in the back and armpit. He ran from 13th Street a short block north through a park to rows of townhomes before collapsing near Washburne Avenue, where police found him.

He was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said. Nobody is in custody.

Police found shell casings on 13th Street. A silver Chevy Impala with bullet holes in the passenger side doors and a flat rear tire was a block south of where the shooting happened, at the corner of Throop and Hastings streets, under two security cameras: one attached to the south end of a townhome and the other a Chicago Police Department blue-light camera. It's unclear if detectives investigating the homicide were able to pull video from either one.

A 26-year-old man was shot in each thigh, the hand, and suffered a graze wound to his abdomen about 12:15 a.m., police said. He was standing on the 2900 block of West Polk Street in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side when a car rolled up and someone inside started shooting, police said. The man flagged someone down after being hit and was driven to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition has stabilized, police said.

A man in his 20s was shot about 12:10 a.m. on the 5800 block of South Wolcott Avenue in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital. His age and condition weren't available.

About 11:15 p.m., an 18-year-old man riding his bike was shot in the buttocks by someone standing among a group of males on the 7200 block of South Green Street in the Englewood neighborhood. He's in good condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said, and the shooting appears to be gang related.

A 24-year-old man walked into Mount Sinai Hospital about 10:30 p.m. after getting shot in the back in the Near West Side neighborhood, in the 300 block of South Campbell Avenue. Police said the man refused to provide any other information about the incident, including his name.

About 7:15 p.m., a 40-year-old man was shot on the 300 block of West 104th Place in the Fernwood neighborhood on the South Side, police said. A man approached the victim and asked for a lighter, and when he replied that he didn't have one, the other man shot him a few times, police said. He's in stable condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg about 5 p.m. Saturday shortly after getting off a bus near 105th Street and Indiana Avenue in the Rosemoor neighborhood on the South Side, police said. His brother drove him to Roseland Hospital, and he's in good condition, police said. A 19-year-old man was shot about a block away Friday night.

Two people – a 42-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman – were shot about 3:20 p.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of West Roosevelt Road in the Lawndale neighborhood, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. Both were shot in the arm, drove to Stroger hospital and walked in, Zala said. They're both in good condition. It'’s not clear what prompted that shooting.
