You are simply missing the point. If that's where you wish to stay, nothing I can do will help. One of the points of good critical thought is not only to offer alternatives not chosen, but to continue to note how those alternatives would have made matters better. It's a very serious place to be and one that not only needs to be made but we should not dismiss. It's, to repeat myself, not about the immediately politically possible. But about keeping better solutions viable by keeping them in the conversation. It's hard to see why all this upsets you so much. Pretty constant part of democratic politics.
