You BIL's Dad does have a point though. In California, Obama leads by over 30%.

Thats why I say even if/when Romney wins in the Electoral College he will still probably lose the Popular vote due to California and New York.

Then it will be riot time.

Obama has the black vote locked down.

Blacks make up 12.5% of the population. If you ask what percentage of all welfare recipients are black, it is about 30%.

Where do they live?

At the time of the 2000 Census, 54.8% of African Americans lived in the South. In that year, 17.6% of African Americans lived in the Northeast and 18.7% in the Midwest, while only 8.9% lived in the western states. The west does have a sizable black population in certain areas, however. California, the nation's most populous state, has the fifth largest African-American population, only behind New York, Texas, Georgia, and Florida.

Texas and Georgia are red states. Florida is going to be a red state this time around. All the blacks in New York and California can turn out in droves and it's not going to change their blueness.

Even with the black vote locked down, I don't see how, even if every single one of them voted for Obama, that it would swing the election in his favor.

Now I'm not taking into consideration the bus loads that will be making the rounds at all the polling places. ;)
What would that be - another 1-2%?

Ask you BIL how the economy's doing. If he answers that it's not so good, ask him if Presidents don't usually own their economies by the time the run for reelection, no matter what it was like when they took office.
