taxi, i've got a simple question. someone on this thread instead of cohen might be able to answer it.
i don't have the news release describing the license terms, but wasn't the time period originally for 5 yrs for entire concession then aipn can choose the prime 10%? in the latest release, the 5 yrs CAN be extended to 9 yrs to allow for expanded work programs, but if i understand this correctly, with the exception of 10%, any drilling and oil to be gotten out has to occur within 9 yrs....
seems this would be a drawback for any major oil co...the texaco jv recently ann. was for 40 yrs...
am i missing something?
tia
rhonda
ps...what's time period for 10% ?

Ken,
I feel it would be dishonest to the thread to not post that I sold my 4.25 today at 5.25***** 20,000 shares. This I know is a mistake but my wife needs to shop and I have a position that is huge to not trade this baby when the opportunity presents itself. I will regret the sale as I already have but everything in the market that you do is a mistake.

DrRisk long and very happy today to be a bull!

Of course I speculate. Science is really one huge speculation fest although the preferred term is hypothesize. They mean the same thing. Aipn is a highly speculative stock that may provide a large return.

Aipn is a gamble--more so than many but less so than others. The info at present while certainly not overwhelming, does give decent odds to support an investment in this co. I'm a gambler--the vast majority of scientists are--oops, I just let out the big secret. Waiting for all the facts to come in before making a decision on a stock means it's time to invest in bonds.

I bought this stock because I've speculated that oil will be found. If and when it is the stock will reflect this. If in the interim a JV is made that jumps the price that's great. The difference between some and others is that not everyone feels a huge JV is an absolute requirement. Too many hopes for quick hitters go down on strike three. Aipn fits the niche for a speculative long term hold that might allow me to realize the new long term cap gains rate. After all, we're all in this to provide monetary gifts to Uncle Sam, right? <BG>
