The Japanese also had a standing army, a navy and an air force. They had invaded and occupied much of asia and was threatening Australia etc., etc.. What a narrow view of that history you have. You think the only thing that precipitated the war in the pacific was the attack on Pearl Harbour???? What an utterly STUPID (American) view. BTW, there are those that believe that Roosevelt allowed Pearl Harbour to happen so that the attack would galvanize American public support of declaring war against Japan. Sort of sounds like 911.

Japan was one of the most powerful countries in the world that made a full blown highly coordinated attack on our country using all their might. I don't think we could have taken them on with a few navy Seals and Rangers. Good lord. The 9/11 guys were essentially 19 crazy Saudi's with a small band of more crazies back in Afghanistan. This just required a police action. What the Israelies would have done. Send the Rangers and Seals out to kill them. There was no need to invade Iraq for god's sake! Your not noticing the difference is exactly what Bush and Cheney and the neo cons depended on when they used 9/11 to take our civil rights away and start two stupid wars, one of which was simply feed the military industrial complex and to try and steal their oil (Iraq), which they didn't even get enough of to pay for the war, which they said it would do. And they tried to tell us their attack on Iraq was linked to 9/11. Their lies were bold and pervasive and that the right wing bought them blows my mind! A 10 year old could tell it was all a pack of lies and the neo cons were using 9/11 as an excuse to gain executive power and do whatever they wanted. They used fear, just like Hitler did. And it seems you fell for all of it. Bush and Cheney and the neo cons were jerky us around like a bunch of stupido's and most we all fell for it.
