Also, if you hate Gates, wait till he's gone and Ballmer is in charge. You'll be praying Gates was back.

Come on, Robert. Didn't ya know Billy is just a geek clone until Mr. H can take over?

What really scares me about this whole crusade, is the lesson I have learned about our young people. Their minds have been corrupted somehow. Our generation have always disliked the un-innovative creep that takes credit for everything. Somehow he has programmed our young. The Gates Youth Group are far stronger than I imagined.

Robert, do you wear a red arm band with a shiny green big "e" displayed?

I think Ballmer would appeal to the public much less than Gates. You may think that's not important but it will become very important over the next several years. The Web is a marvelous tool for spreading information and there is already a growing dissent between many people and MSFT, and MSFT would be smart to not let that dissent get too big! Hatred toward MSFT could easily grow to enormous proportions if their not careful and the web is the conduit that will carry it.

IMO MSFT does not seem to be to concerned right now about it's public relations, and perhaps they feel they don't need to be concerned, afterall they are a monopoly. But over time things can change and public sentiment can change, and eventually what if the people have a choice between Windows and Java or whatever to run on their computers?
What will be happening in the year 2005? Will everyone still be running Windows? Will people hate MSFT by the millions?

One thing I've noticed is that people are not beating up on the DOJ in favor of MSFT. IMO the DOJ case is not helping MSFT's PR at all, in fact I think it is severely hurting it. In my view MSFT is underestimating the collective power of millions of people and in this modern age of information sharing it could be detrimental for MSFT.

I ask that my friend, becuase he speaks as if Microsoft is the little poor cute good corporate citizen that is being punished for nothing done wrong whatsoever. The government out of the sudden decided for no good reason to pursue microsoft. The government felt it should punish ms for all the good things it does for the beloved customer. It bring a tear to my ear to see ms being put in such a situation. I mean, what on earth is the governemt trying to do? stop ms innovation for the good of the customer? the good of me? my well being depends on ms.. I want more ms. governemt, go away (tears down the shoulders) lights fading. moving sad music in background.
-- cut. good job everyone.

Ballmer and Gates.. well, the illusion is the "what's good for our customers" vapid lines. It just reminds me of Hitler. Striking similarities between ms' approach and Hitler's in using media to get their way.
I hate Gates? Yes. This guy has no soul it seems. The same goes for Ballmer. the reasons? greed.. their greed seems to have no limit, and they're almost proud of it.
