Who is to say your self interest is "greedy" and by what standard?

I think the best judgement of that is self-judgement. I think the best parable involving greed is Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."
What it showed is that greed gets in the way of self-interest.

Rand covered this well, but people have a very hard time with it, especially if they are religious.

I agree, and I also think, as brilliant as she was, she had a blind spot involving compassion, which is a crucial part of our existence. She didn't, perhaps couldn't, explore what happens when self-interest, no different from greed in her books, increases without limit. The Greeks didn't value moderation in all things without reason.
