even FDR was against public sector unions . Who do public sector unions negotiate with/against ?? the evil taxpayer ? the politician who needs their vote ?

The idea that unions are inherently "bad" is just emotional ignorance which appears especially severe at the moment as a good portion of people seem to need something to blame at the moment. Unions can be useful and "good" or overbearing and "bad" of course depending on the circumstances. Interestingly it appears that quite a few of the boisterous "unions are evil" crowd also fancy themselves as folks who are self sufficient, religious, and in favor with god. Strangely they seemed to have missed "spirituality 101 as taught by all the major religions including Christianity: Love and acceptance... (Render onto Ceaser what is Ceasar's.). In the US today you see non-acceptance and even hatred of others expressing itself like a pruritic rash. The biggest complainers that they are right and the other guys are completely wrong and screaming for retribution seem to be the very ones who claim to be holy and for individual rights... just so you don't exercise YOUR right to form/join a union, vote for the "wrong type" of government, have the wrong type of relationship with others, be against a war, or for regulating what type of slime gets dumped into the waterways. THOSE kind of rights we are told we don't need and should be taken away in the name of the lord. :)) Just dreadful when someone with the wrong kind of political party, religion, skin color, or any number of other attributes or opinions should stand up for what THEY want or vote for THEIR party! LOL... I used to link in Elmer Gantry links here occasionally... Probably time for a remake of that gem me thinks! DAK
