LOL......I first heard the term "fudgepacker " when Jack Nicholson used it in "As Good As It Gets".... the metaphor had me giggling for days...... Yeah Goober could easily have been one..

Dummy, it was Gomer who was gay, not Goober ... Goober was married to the same woman for about 40 years or so.

Rumor is Gomer married Rock Hudson ... but snopes says it ain't so.

While Hudson and Nabors were really gay, one thing about gays is they love rumors that this or that famous person is gay ... my first wife used to work with several gay male nurses and they were always telling her about stories about how this or that celebrity were gay ... I remember they said Burt Reynolds was being treated for terminal AIDS in the Med Center here ... but here it is decades later and the guys alive and presumably non-infected and non-gay. I think it all amounts to gays wishing someone they lust after to be gay.
