I'll confess a transgression as a first-grader. I had a crush on a girl in my class, and I'd kiss her at recess, against her will. I just did this a couple of times.

One Saturday, my mom was taking me to the library, when there Anita was, walking down the library steps. She walked right up to my mom and said, "Mrs. XXX, XX grabs me and kisses me at recess. Can you get him to stop doing this?" Needless to say, I was mortified.

To make the mortification even worse, my mom announced the incident at the dinner table, where my dad and two brothers both had a good laugh!

That was in first grade, and I remember it like it was yesterday.
