Bill, I have DELL computers in my office, but I'll probably buy a CPQ sub 1000 machine for a spare. I think Dell ignores this market at their own peril. The sub 1000 machines are needed for those individuals who are first time buyers and excellent machines for those who want more than one. Also, I think for the first time buyers, it may turn out to be something of a "loss leader" (not saying they are losing money on them) in that once the first time user becomes familiar with the pc, the next logical step is an upgrade<g>, bp
