Managers that had to stay 100% in the sector had no chance. Since most banks didnt have a handle on their own loan book, well you know. I still remember Ritter claiming they didnt need Tarp funds, blah blah.
Many had completely forgotten the concept of risk adjusted returns.
Many did not have the skill set for the loan types or geographies they were in.
I was early on 2 Tarp dragons and while making a small profit; the play was clearly unacceptable.

It wasnt fundies in late 08/09, it was using the Dorsey type work that fell to lower levels than even he had ever charted.
