I think Johnson's Great Society, our increased diversity post 1965 Immigration act, drug culture unleashed on us by your hippie generation, the record wealth disparity gap here in the states, the unyielding power of the NRA and our for profit prison industrial complex had a lot to do with it.. Bottom line I have as much hate for the right wing as you do but it goes so much deeper IMHO. I pretty much agree with most of your points although I am not sure how Johnson made things worse.........If you look at history, our cities were racked with violence and black uprisings in the 1960s. Its seem to me a program was needed to start balancing off the inequities that led to those riots.
