I fully agree, Mom and Pop will most likely NEVER return to these markets, not their generation anyway, they retired and do not want the risk...

The manipulation starts squarely with the Fed and interest rate manipulations and keep rates waaaay artificially low. If they can do that, you know the next important thing to manipulate is currencies. Central Banks do that too. IMO just about everything else is along for the ride created by both of the above.
