I agree with alot of what you say there RE: the wealth divide and shrinking middle class but folks need to lift themselves up too and not think they are all going to be wealthy celebrities one day.. Of course also realize NZ, Canada ect have a demographic closer to Vermont not the expanding ghettos of our large inner cities. You' ve lived in Alaska since 1971? How many times have you been to Detroit, NYC, Atlanta, Miami lately? You also think cause you are a bleeding heart liberal all these people will admire you rather than rip the shirt off your back? Just look at the black church backlash against Obama on gay marriage after all your efforts for BOTH oppressed groups? How pathetic is that? I will say without such a large contingent of educated white liberal and moderate folks like us this country totally falls apart into many more groups than just liberal versus conservative.

What Mexicans earn here is a "living" wage in Mexico. They live and work here cheaply (5-6 to house) and Send US dollars back to their pueblos in Mexico where they can build Modern day homes with the money.
