Yes, but the Republicans would rather have it be constitutional, IMHO.
I agree but the caveat I was trying to introduce is they will only do so as long as they perceive it to be in their short and long term interest. As long as they see the senate leadership flipping back and forth between themselves and the Dems, I doubt they would support such. But if they saw the long term future as the Senate belonging to the Reps and they could do some system wide structural changes that would tend to keep them in power for longer terms, they would be likely to change their views.

Granted, lots of "ifs" but I was trying to introduce qualifiers to the argument we will likely hear on SI and other places, that the Reps will try to eliminate the filibuster if they gain control of the Senate in 2012. I don't see that happening.
