MARKET ACTIVITY
The Toronto Stock Exchange 300 fell 0.7% or 49.36 to 6724.57.
In comparison, the Toronto Oil & Gas Composite fell 1.0% or 73.03 to 7021.08. Looking into the sub-components, the integrated Oils lost 0.2% or 19.70 to 7021.08. the oil & Gas Producers fell 1.3% or 80.45 to 6218.41. Oil & Gas Services dropped 1.8% or 58.89 to 3216.18.
Snow Leopard, Beau Canada Exploration, Northstar Energy, Newport Energy, Talisman Energy, Abacan Resources and Compton Petroleum were among the top 50 most active traded issues on the TSE.
Seven Seas Petroleum gained $0.75 to $18.90, Chieftain International $0.70 to $332.25, Amber Energy $0.40 to $21.00 and Rio Alto Exploration $0.40 to $12.90.
Percentage losers included Compton Petroleum 6.5% to $1.65, Bow Valley Exploration 6.3% to $1.70, Southward Energy 6.3% to $1.70, Opal Energy 6.1% to $1.05, Post Energy 5.7% to $3.70 and Rider Resources 5.0% to $5.25.
Pendaires Petroleum lost $1.45 to $11.05, Pacalta Resources $1.25 to $19.10, Remington Resources $1.00 to $24.50 and Elk Point Resources $0.75 to $8.00.
Percentage losers included Abacan Resources 13.2% to $2.90, TUSK Energy 12.0% to $1.10, Pendaires Petroleum 11.6% to $11.05, Phoenix Canada Oil 8.8% to $1.55, K2 Energy 8.8% to $1.45, Elk Point Resources 8.6% to $8.00, Renata Resources 8.3% to $1.65 and Cavell Energy 7.9% to $1.40.

Barrington Petroleum, Canadian Conquest Exploration, Northstar Energy and TUSK Energy reached new 52-week lows.
Review of the service sector found Bonus Resource Services among the top 50 most active traded issues on the TSE.
Plains Energy Services gained $1.00 to $12.75, NQL Drilling $0.75 to $12.00, Canadian Fracmaster $0.65 to $12.15, ATCO II $0.40 to $32.65, Artisan Corp. $0.35 to $13.75 and Tesco $0.35 to $21.75.
Percentage gainers included Inter-Tech Drilling 9.5% to $1.15, Plains Energy Services 8.5% to $12.75 and NQL Drilling 6.7% to $12.00.
On the downside, Shaw Indusrties lost $2.30 to $46.30, Precision Drilling $1.20 to $36.20, Enertec Resource Services $0.90 to $14.00 and Akita Drilling A $0.75 to $11.50.
Percentage loser was Enerchem International 17.4% to $1.90.
ATCO I and ATCO II reached new 52-week highs.
Bowridge Resources reached a new 52-week low.
Over on the Alberta Stock Exchange, Fox Energy, EMR Microwave, Stampede Oils, Cirque Energy, Gold Star Energy, Storm Energy, Oilexco, NTI Resources and Oxbow Exploration were among the most active traded issues.
