Let me guess you are going to suggest poverty. Stealing food is a crime of poverty. Violenty attacking and killing somebody is a crime of violence. There is no money to be made by kidnapping, torture and murder. If poverty was the issue then Appalachia would be a war zone. It's not. The people are poor and peaceful. Now compare that to Detroit or Chicago.
