No, this is not as partisan an issue as you need it to be. If you look at the history of the Christian lobbying it cuts across parties, though less now than before. Barry Goldwater was especially upset with the growing religious forces in the GOP. I'm sure you know that, or we can go back and discuss it. Democrats historically have a wide and contentious tent.
