Carp is special in Japan. Has been for centuries
I have a degree in Asian studies and lived in Japan for 8 years and even fed the Koi on numerous occasions at various Japanese gardens.

My only point was the size of these things. Apparently, they get lose or are let go in the river just become huge. Must be eating dogs or little kids or something. Maybe each other?
