I wish Betty wouldn't post stuff about XRL here, because it gives the impression that JMAR only has XRL. It puts a bad taste in people's mouth (from this thread) about a fine company that has much more to offer than just XRL.

The last time I was a cheap bastard and mortgaged the house (figuratively, not literally) was when the market dumped shares of JMAR in 1994 because JMAR sold a money-draining division. Everybody that bought JMAR had the mental baggage about Surgilase (the clunker that was sold). They missed the point that its sale was fantastic news because its one money-making division, PPL, was going to shine. I bought in at 68 cents. The darn thing hovered there for a while and even went as low as 53 cents, but I held firm.

I've lost plenty of money in my life, but since 1994 when I turned into a cheapskate, I've done extremely well.

I smell another opportunity here with Cymer (big time!!!).

Bob - From JMAR's annual report: JMAR's point source X-ray lithography technology utilizes our patented Britelight high-power, picosecond-class, diode-pumped solid state laser technology to generate the x-rays .....

Perhaps you didn't do your patent search properly.

Yes - there are other people working on point source. My comment refered to the fact that another point source won't be exactly like JMAR's because JMAR's point source is patented.

And by the way -- where does it say in Cymer's annual report (or any other source) that they are working on X-ray? (And no, I don't mean EUV or "soft x-ray"). I just looked, and I didn't see it. What I DID see in several places was this sentence: "In the future, the Company will likely experience competition from other technologies, such as X-ray, electron beam and ion projection processes."

I am ready to take a break from SI for Thanksgiving. I hope everyone has a nice holiday.
