I agree. I even go so far as to say I feel safe under Obama as well. I think he is a good man and is well-intentioned. If there was anyone we'd want to trust with that kind of authority, it would be Obama, in my opinion. However, I'm not worried about Obama. I'm more worried about a Dick Cheney or Boehner or McConnell, or worse gaining the Presidency and using those powers against any American citizen who doesn't like their policies.

I have no problem using those kinds of powers against AQ, which is the way they were intended. The problem with the law as written is that any future President can take a liberal interpretation to mean they can persecute any American citizen. What if I rail against Dick Cheney's torture policies and he decided to silence me and it was all covered legally by NDAA? That is a Freedom killer law, if ever there was one.

That's exactly why those journalists sued and the Judge has put a temporary stay of execution on that law. Journalists are usually the first to get persecuted under tyrannical laws, because if you are trying to become a Dictator, the first thing you have to do is control the Press. So they know full well what a bad law this is, despite the well-intentioned Obama currently being in power.
