Why don't they see that? They were taught certain principles since childhood, and they are hard wired into their brains as "goodness". Facts and experience won't change those early prejudices. It's a tiny box and they can't think outside of it. It's similar to religion for a lot of people. The democrats try to rely on reason and judgement. The Republicans just use target words to fire those early brain cells. They win with lots of folks. Reality isn't a factor. Damn, its scary but I think you are very right.
