Morgan Stanley Dean Witter analyst Chuck Phillips said he
reduced his revenue forecast for ORACLE CORP's 2Q by $16 million
to $1.68 billion, due to potential weakness in the company's
Asia/Pacific region. Phillips said in a research note he reduced
his earnings estimate for the year to $1.10 per share from $1.11.
Phillips said he is sticking to his $0.23 per share earnings
estimate for the 2Q because he believes margin performance will be
better than his original model for the quarter. Japan supplies
almost half of Oracle's revenue in the region, and this revenue
source seems unlikely to continue growing at its current rate.
