Do you have proof the neighborhood ASKED him to be the neighborhood watchman? That he was the "captain"? Who ELSE was in the neighborhood watch? Why haven't any of THEM come to his defense? Why does it seem he only called in to report BLACK kids in his neighborhood? Why didn't Zimmerman fire a warning shot? Why didn't he approach Martin with his gun visible? He's responsible for that boy's death, and should PAY some price. As a gun owner, I've NEVER had to actually shoot someone. Just the threat of a firearm is always enough to control the situation. You KNOW that. I'll bet a shot into the ground would have had Martin running, and not kicking Zimmerman's ass!
