Sitting in a chair and imagining things as you're doing now and being in a real fight for your life are two different things. In reality, you'd do what you could as fast as you could, no time to think, gee, I'll just try to 'wing him' or something. Your comments about shooting him in the legs or butt or balls are about as reasonable as bentwayover's 'warning shot' idea.

Depends on how close they were at the time - leaked autopsy report suggests the gun was fired from 1-18 inches away but does not mention a trajectory.
