There are going to be situations where both parties involved can be legitimately in fear of their lives. Requiring them to try to find some other way is the only workable solution. Unless, of course you find a greater number of dead people acceptable. Fun fact, the number of deaths due to self defense has tripled in Florida since the law came into effect. A significant number of those are drug dealers...
