Agreed, no level of taxation could support the current spending.

If the deal was $100 billion spending cut in year one (meaning if this year the Federal Government spent $x next year they will spend $x-$100 billion, not just a 10 year decrase in the rate of increase) in return for $10 billion in tax increase in year 2, I'd take that deal in a heart beat.

I'm sure the democrats would never go for it but call their bluff for crying out loud. Make them look like the party no.
