Let's broaden that age to women who are well educated who are not just now graduating from Barnard or Wellesley or University of Tennessee or Rochester or Northwestern or University of Virginia and similar schools of higher education-------but older than 29 and yes even into their 80's.

These women have advanced degrees that won't buy them a cup of coffee.

Many have married and raised their children. Many go back to school to upgrade credentials------and find that there are no jobs in the fields in which they were trained due to 'closed shops'.

No they aren't officially Unions they are associations and organizations that determine who may fill a job. Even if they are fortunate to get a job their experience is discounted. Their pay will be maybe half of what another person is getting paid for the job. This is discrimination against women older than 29------and is applicable to men also.

This isn't just in Education or nursing which many automatically think of for women-------these are all fields.

I'll leave this for now. mj

Campbell Brown: Obama 'Grating and Even Condescending'

Hardly reassuring words when you look at the reality. According to the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University, about 53.6 percent of men and women under the age of 25 who hold bachelor’s degrees were jobless or underemployed last year, the most in at least 11 years. According to the Pew Research Center, if we broaden the age group to 18- to 29-year-olds, an estimated 37 percent are unemployed or out of the work force, the highest share in more than three decades.
