Longnshort, this nation was founded on religious freedom. People come here to practice whatever faith they want to believe in, or none at all.

So a lot of Muslims in America believe in Sharia law. Fine, let them practice it amongst themselves. Their laws might permit conversion by force, but American laws will NEVER allow it. If they break those laws, they should be deported. Otherwise, they should be left alone.

In one sentence you say we can't fight superstition and the next you want to keep open the batterfield of Ideas.
When did I say that "we can't fight superstition"? You completely missed the point.

You win in the battlefield of ideas with better ideas. Obviously Sharia law is not a "better idea," but many people think it is. Why is that, if they aren't forced into it?

The answer should be clear. It's a spiritual issue, not a political one.
