Mandel's name recognition is growing......only down 7 points at this stage is not bad. Brown perhaps the furthest left Senator in US....and a pathetic political hack.

Mandel Catching Brown in Ohio Senate Race

By Greg McDonald

Ohio is already firing up as a key presidential election battleground, but Republicans say the race there between incumbent Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown and his lesser-known GOP challenger is developing some heat as well.

According to Politico the race between Brown and Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel is tightening, thanks in part to an infusion of $6 million worth of attack ads aimed at Brown from outside conservative groups.

Brown had held a 15-point lead over Mandel in earlier polls, but more recent surveys suggest that his lead has narrowed to only 6 or 8 percentage points.

November is still a ways away, but the polls indicate that Mandel’s name recognition is increasing steadily.

things looking up in Wisconsin.....Conservative Mark Neumann a tossup to get the Republican nomination over party favorite Thompson and a tossup in the Nov general election as well......Neumann is one of the 5 (Mandel, Cruz, Fischer, Mourdock, Neumann) Conservatives needed to take control from McConnell in the Senate. All 5 are ALIVE with a real shot. I'm getting psyched.

Poll: Wisconsin Senate race a toss-up
By Cameron Joseph - 04/17/12 08:58 AM ET

Wisconsin's Senate race is a pure toss-up if longtime Gov. Tommy Thompson (R) or former Rep. Mark Neumann (R-Wis.) wins the GOP primary, according to a new poll from the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling.

Thompson leads Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) by 47 percent to 45, while Baldwin leads Neumann by 46 percent to 45, according to the poll.

The poll applies a "likely voter" model that is unusual this early in the election because it also polled the upcoming Wisconsin gubernatorial recall race. This might slightly distort the numbers, since only those likely to vote in the gubernatorial race are polled here, but it is mostly in line with other polls of the race.

Thompson has led his GOP opponents in previous primary polls, and because of his sky-high name recognition in the state and relatively centrist record he appears to be the strongest candidate. But Neumann's close numbers in this poll suggest that, at least at this point, if the hardline conservative is nominated he'll have a good chance in the general election.
