Your own graph shows Calif house prices went from 24k to 99k from 1970 to 1980---And I can tell you it was more than that in the SF Bay area. Which proves my point--Calif retirees could not deal with the tripole increase in their property taxes--hence Prop 13.

It doesn't prove your point.........I've seen the actual numbers for the state. Up until the mid 1970s, CA housing prices tracked the US average. CA, not the Bay area. Then when prop 13 came onto the picture CA housing prices started leaving the US average behind. Other factors came into play but one of the key ones was prop 13.
