Re: Oil vs. gas rigs Are they not saying that they are pulling the verticle NG wells and leaving in the horizonal wells (frackers)? They've been just switching the gas label to the oil label for the most part. The rigs even stay in the same play when they are rebranded. There is a slow switchover to horizontal going on independently from the changing of the drill targets. It should be noted that these rigs drilling for oil still strike gas wells. The big difference is the sales value of the oil is higher than the sales value of the gas because they drilled in spots where more liquid was mixed in with the gas than in other spots in the play.
