It is this group that could certainly give more money to the government IF THEY wanted.... The folks in the low to middle income (I define that as from $30k to about $125k) are really in two separate situations. The lower income folks generally had poor education, most of which was their own fault. Everyone in America has the same chance at a good HS education. Some of this group didn't make it through HS which chances are, is their own fault or doing. Some of this group decided to have children without any way to pay for them. Again, poor choices. ETC..... Many of us help some of this group....BUT we also know this group and their families have had charity for centuries.... The upper $70-125k group is so burdened by taxes AND they can't qualify generally for any freebees of the low income folks, nor can they get scholarships for their children (unless there are TOP students and a minority) so this is the group that probably could stand some help, certainly some tax relief. The politicans pander to all these groups, by pitting them against each other. Especially true of the current crop of Democrats. And most of these people tend to not pay much attention to politics, and certainly don't want to hear any new ideas that another group might have... It's discouraging, for sure!>>>>>some very comfortably in one 1% bracket and have no problem with tax increase. most volunteer to help low income etc. most believe obama doing a decent job based on what he took over from bush. Most support obamacare. two others (low to middle income) have grown children with difficulties and look forward to required medical coverage for them. <<<<<
