George: This announcement was critical for Schmidt's credibility going forward. With Microsoft on the defensive, Java gaining mindshare, NC's establishing an important foothold - we have a feisty leader able to work the street with panache - coming out fighting right after the debacle last quarter, and now surprising am extreme bearish street this quarter with 2 cents versus IMHO a negative consensus given the appeared recent slowdown in sales. On CNBC tomorrow am - this guy seems to thrive on confrontation and challenge and doesn't let anything grow under his feet. I happen to like this "new spirit".

While this is "turning the corner" - we are not in safe territory by any means, but the street can begin to factor in future growth in a turnaround that's underway.

Alphonse my short and proud friend - you never had the guts to respond to my last post weeks ago questioning when and how you got short once again. Thought you could simply disappeared for several weeks and then reappeared to christen this broken boat's final doomed voyage? Stay "short and proud" Alphonse....the street will eat you alive on this one. Sure we'll have a retracement and if you are lucky you will cover, but the bottom has been set.

Joe and the rest of this SI Novell negativity club, lets get with the program or may I suggest you all seek alternative forms of therapy.

Salah, looking forward to your spin on the numbers.

Good luck!
