Ratan, my friend, the point of the article I posted is that when the RBOCs and all telcos are truly deregulated it will not cost more to call Nevada than London.

All this nonsence is being addressed. When the RBOCs can carry LD in their territory the price of a LD call will dramatically decrease.

Ratan,

There is hope NOW for improving you LD phone costs. You don't need to wait for the RBOC's to get into the LD business. As BellBoy can tell you, Nynex/Bell Atlantic are about as close as any are getting, but, that doesn't help you much. Even if/when the RBOC's do get in the only margin left is in reducing the local access fees, that they control.
