I watched the controversial series "Borgia" last weekend. I think the producers took quite a bit of artistic licence there but still provided some insight into historical conditions in Pre-Rennaisance Europe. Now I sort of get the sneering references to pope on this thread. The Borgia clan of the late 1400s was messed up. Rodrigo Borgia became Pope Alexander VI.

Here's the latest example of that "transcendent ethic" in practice by the pigmy preacher who wants them (queers) all rounded up to live out their lives behind electric fences (where they'll die off naturally). You'd think that there would be an infinitely greator chance of a coming into being of all the goodness, virtues, morals , grace & harmony in society if people didn't spend their entires lives chained to living in such a simpleminded tiny arena &never be able to lose these crutches .

The feeble little man feels "great" in his own silly mind , thinks he speaks with some noble authority given him by some witless writings in an ancient book but interpreted thru the local culture of North Carolina where i doubt if his life consists of anything thats even remotely remarkable (talking about the holy weather & tailgate parties at Nascar) . Nothing like the promise of Eternal Happiness to keep them mesmerized for centuries but its just so self centered & produces this kind of blatant stupidity & roteness .

Interesting thing about religion's pretense is how narrowly it confines people , really has no relationship to the rest of the world at large or its greater mysteries & other peoples . Pygmies in Africa could dream up just as viable self centered nonsense as this , no less savages than this fellow & certainly be more articulate about than this in reality .
