Much good that has done to them, burning a billion of cash per quarter... maybe they should have asked for 10x the royalties from Apple.... again, either Nokia can compete or they can't compete, because the same players that are in the Android market are also in the WP market... they just don't give as much hoot for 2.2%... but if the WP market share was to rise, they will and Nokia will find in front of them the same big guns they would have found in Android.... and if Nokia can't compete, they should pack their hardware losing business and become a pure play IP shop with near 100% margins.... maybe then we'll get some shareholder value back...

And BTW reviews are worthless (just look at all the slobbering the media is doing every time Apple comes up with a new phone that is a duplicate of the tiny screen and 3G and little change in 5 years). And yet Android still outsells iOS by 3 to 1. So much for reviewers eh? If Nokia and Microsoft want market share, they need to target Apple users and their closed iOS, cause Android users are lock and loaded... and keep growing by leaps and bounds... with new stuff coming that will blow everyones mind...

Nokia settled with Apple before getting involved with Microsoft. Access to Microsoft's IP was likely an added bonus for Nokia but not as far as offering protection from Apple was concerned. I think the Apple/Samsung battle is more about TV and LTE integration and the smartphone functionality battles are just the noise.
