I think it's just a matter of picking and choosing your battles. MS and Apple have fairly broad cross licenses so they can't really touch each other in operating systems. But I think we can all agree that between WP7, iOS, and Android, one of these things is not like the others. For better or worse, Microsoft and Nokia have chosen to put out differentiated products. If all they want is to make a sale, then Nokia can throw Android on a Lumia 900 at any time.
