There is nothing new under the sun, eh! The thinking of Schopenhauer has often been compared to Buddhist thought.

In one narrative you have "God" cursing the fig tree ( his creation ) which doesn't demontrate much love for his creatures really does it ? But he does go on to die for them or gets in enough trouble to warrant death as many 100's of 1000's did in those times meeting the same fate . Real bitch of a world to be sure but where does it all start & how do we end this endless cycle of violence ?

And they think there is some profound wisdom in this petulent behavior which is disturbing for the anger it displays when something as harmless as a tree could cause some imagined offense. Is there a need to know about the afterlife ? Is there a need to know about a God or Supernatural being behind all things ? For all the preaching & sermons does it change the world we live in or the facts of our existence, one bit .

In Buddhism this is one of the most sacred sites known like Mecca or Jerusalem and isn't it sort of ironic its the Boddhi Tree /Ficus religiosa, the same tree Jesus cursed in the bible , the Fig Tree.
