Kenneth - From the Occupational Handbook, Bureau of Labor Statistics:

Employment of lawyers is expected to grow by 10 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Competition for jobs should continue to be strong because more students are graduating from law school each year than there are jobs available.

Employment of postsecondary teachers is expected to grow by 17 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Growth is expected as enrollments at postsecondary institutions at all levels continue to rise.

So it appears the need for Post Secondary teachers will grow almost twice the rate as the need for attorneys.

I'm not doubting the need will increase when all the old farts like you and I are retired and gone ...we were discussing the employment outlook now ...

I know median salary for a lawyer is higher than for a teacher. Never said it wasn't. I did say there are a good number of attorneys working in other jobs, as they can't make a living at practicing law, because there are too many attorneys right now.
