Ali, RE:<INTEL dumping flawed MMX Pentium chips?>

Last time I checked PriceWatch.com, the Pentium-233 MMX
was selling at $263, $267, $268 ...., 17 vendors sell it
below $300.

What is it? Dumping of flawed chips?

Ali, they just made too many of the overpriced 233 MHz chips. The Tier 1 and Tier 2 computer co's bought tons of these chips at $300... and then found that they couldn't sell the computers because they couldn't sell a decent machine (without monitor) for less than $1000. They'd rather get rid of the chips at a discount than finance a big computer inventory, so they sold the chips to the outfits in Pricewatch and thechipmerchant, among others.
