Were multigenerations of Mexicans shacking up in tiny shacks back when you lived there? There are a few shanty town typelooking streets even in Santa Barbara but i imagine only affordable if at least 5-6 per household are working full time to even afford the starter home?

Lots of people sleeping under the freeway bridge there until a few years ago when the cops got tough on the homeless. Even in the 70's the park beaches along the beach we're good for an overnite.
