NOVEMBER 25, 1997 COGNICASE Announces Year 2000 Compliance Contracts Award for the Department of National Defence of Canada (DND) MONTREAL, QUEBEC--COGNICASE Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been awarded in partnership with Oerlikon Aerospace (OA) and SMART CITIES Le Bastion, of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, two standing-offer contracts by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) for the delivery of solutions to make the systems of the Department of National Defence of Canada (DND) Year 2000 compliant. The two contracts awarded cover respectively the following Application Domain Categories: i) Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence Systems; and, ii) Weapons Systems and Battlefield Surveillance Systems. COGNICASE and its partners have proposed a comprehensive solution based on substantial specialized manpower, adapted software tool-set, efficient processes, facilities and equipment to address DND's Year 2000 readiness in these two Application Domain Categories. According to this proposal, the value of the work to be contracted to COGNICASE and its partners is estimated to exceed $50 million over the next four years.
