And meanwhile here in Fla. CEO's of "public " utilities, whose rates of return set by public commissions getting $10 million paychecks, are we crazy or what?

Not necessarily! Perhaps it shows that in the US we do not place the same value and status for individuals obtaining an education. It's where is our priority!!!! Once of the first items that a corporation looks for before settling on a community is whether the community has a sufficient educated work force. This is particularly true in today IT and Global market. Just think of the advanced skill sets which are required to run robots, computers, on a manufacture line in order to produce a product. And the technology is changing every day.
