So you cannot leave the functioning of a society up to capitalism alone. Your "liberal" solution is always more govt. You start with the premise that people are fundamentally helpless and cannot take care of themselves, they need big-brother state to provide for all of their needs. When one follows your positions to their logical conclusion, you have communism. You say that bank tellers and other low value employees should be paid more than they are worth, out of fairness. You say that high paid people are paid more than they need. That sounds remarkably like Karl Marx Each provides according to their abilities and each receives according to their needs. That is the world you want, despite the catastrophic failure every time it has been tried. You claim that you reached your "liberal" communist positions based on years of studying the great thinkers, I reached my capitalist/libertarian positions based on years of observing what actually works in the real world. Neither I, nor any sane person has said there is no role for govt, but the role should be less than it is today, not more. It should also be exercised at the lowest possible level, much less federal govt and less state govt with local communities having more control and responsibility. Capitalism is completely dependent on the existence of govt to protect property rights, without govt you cannot have capitalism. You think govt is the solution to all problems, I know it is the cause of many. I believe in free people, you believe that they need to be subjucated to an all powerful state.
