Its a complicated issue with lots of conflicts. No way I am qualified to create a single post that resolves all issues. Its not about what is mine. Its about creating a sustainable service that can last many generations without bankrupting the country. With today's rapid advances in healthcare technology, the country cannot afford to give everyone the healthcare that is possible. So, I seek a solution that provides a basic level of healthcare access for everyone. I focus on smoking and cancer as I have family experience. I have had family members who were 75+ years old and smoked all their life. They got cancer and then the doctors provided a wide variety of cancer treatments, but they still died in 6 months after tens of thousands of medicare dollars were spent. Doctors are personally enriched by all the healthcare spending that happens in the last 6 months of life. Some mechanism is required to make rational economic healthcare decisions.
