How can Cruz win, given Dewhurst getting 45+% of the vote?

Supposedly, conservatives are more energized than Dewhurst supporters and will thus tun out in much higher numbers. Voting numbers would have to be way down for that to work. We'll see soon enough. Go Cruz!

another angle..........Dewhurst only won the actual election day vote by 3% points. He won big in the pre-election voting. This indicates Cruz strengthening late and if there is no pre-election voting in the runoff, Cruz might be in good shape. Also.....if Dewhurst supporters largely voted pre election day (not showing up on election day) why would they show up for the runoff? Maybe I'm reaching. Go Cruz!
