Agree! I, for one, would attest to what you said as I did my graduate study at NYU. Of my class of 24 students (excluding MD-PhD ones) at NYU School of Medicine, there were only 8 US students, including 2 Chinese Americans. There were 9 Chinese, 1 Argentinian, 1 Ecuadorean, 1 South Korean, and the left from other countries.

The reason is that the pre-college, especially pre-high school, education there is not robust enough. However, there is ample room for personalized and personality development. If US will be still orderly enough after the next bout of global financial storm, my daughter would love to go back for her high school education.
