Paul, Re "This is bllody and could get bloodier."

I hate to say this as an Intel Bull, but maybe the market is correcting
another real-estate bubble. Maybe the Silicon Valley real estate will
have to come down to more realistic levels following layoffs - before
we are out of this nightmare.

I'd love to hear your comments on this

Best regards

JB

Paul E, "AMD K6/300 3D 30% faster than PII 300"
Don't know if you read Tom's review of what he saw at Comdex, but I would be interested in your comments of that review. Tom seemed to think the AMD chip was the highlite of Comdex. Here's the link again.

Paul, re:Short term, all three are not very good investments.

You were referring to INTC, AMD and CYRX. I agree about AMD and CYRX/NSM. But, given the overwhelming dominance of Intel, which comes from their superb management, excellent yield control and marketing, etc., etc., and at the current stock price do you still think INTC is not a good investment, short term or long term?

Next question and I already have an opinion but I'll pose it anyway. Do you think the Intel price cuts are overdone? I do, considering the competition. I mean, we're not talking about competing against Japan Inc., or TI, or Motorola, or Samsung, or IBM (at least not yet vs. IBM). Instead we're talking about Cyrix, which company the most fervent supporter on the Cyrix thread, Carl Rohman, gave up on and sold all his stock and posted extremely in depth and almost emotional reasons why he gave up on them. We're also talking about AMD, which has failed on the K5 and can't appear to get K6 yields up to snuff to be profitable as a company. I know you've been saying you think the yield story is a smoke screen to cover up for lack of customers. I don't know, though, what's worse...poor yields or lack of customers?

I have more confidence in Intel management than in probably any other company's. However, I think they should leave prices alone for a while.
